Special Experiences
What does it feel like when the plains go quiet and a river crossing builds? Step into the Mara’s next chapter—cats, herds, and conservancies you won’t want to leave.
Dust, elephants, and a mountain that might appear at dawn—then lions on the marsh edge and light you’ll still be talking about over dinner.
Uganda for one vivid chapter—forest and wetland colour—then Rift flamingo lakes and open Kenya–Tanzania savannah where bee-eaters, rollers, and raptors share the sky with your safari.
After Africa, want one more obsession? Tiger country is different—dappled forest, hushed jeeps, and a stripe of orange that could be anywhere… until it isn’t.
Maasai life along the Mara and Samburu’s northern pastoral world—beadwork, homesteads, and the same landscapes lions and elephants cross. Coastal Swahili when you want the sea chapter too.
Three optional chapters from the sky, the saddle, and the dawn basket—helicopter scenic flights, horseback on select conservancies, and balloon sunrise where rules and weather allow.

We spent 14 days with Dominic in Kenya (4 parks) and Uganda seeing the Gorillas in Beindi Forest. Dominic’s keen sense for when and where to be to have the best experience came through again and again. Absolutely recommend a custom safari with Dominic as the guide. We are already thinking about our next trip and what other destinations in East Africa we would like to visit. Thank you Dominic for making our experience one of a kind!

A unique experience where you get to see it all. Dominic knows exactly where to bring you to see the best animals possible. If you are looking for an experience different from a classic Safari with 20 cars looking at the same animal this is what you are looking for.

I connected with Dominic Maatany through Instagram after seeing his outstanding wildlife photography and safari experiences. From planning the trip to guiding every moment in Kenya’s Maasai Mara, Dominic delivered an unforgettable adventure. His knowledge, conservation passion, storytelling, and photographic expertise helped me capture incredible moments, including rhinos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalo, hippos, giraffes, and breathtaking landscapes. Dominic’s ability to position the vehicle perfectly for wildlife viewing and photography resulted in countless once-in-a-lifetime images. Beyond being an exceptional guide, he is warm, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dominic to anyone seeking an authentic, rewarding, and unforgettable African safari experience.

Dear Dominic, Wanted to write to you to thank you for everything during our time at Enkewa. Your knowledge is extraordinary, and your instincts in the field are simply too good — yet through all of it you stayed so humble. It made the whole experience something we will never forget. The sightings we had are going to stay with us forever, and we are already missing our stay. We hope you got the note Vivaan left for you. Wishing you the very best, always. Hope we meet again in this lifetime. With gratitude Smriti, Yashu & Vivaan

Entrusting your experience to Dominic is a no regret decision. You will not find a guide who is more knowledgeable of widlife and more connected to the land. He is a truly exceptional guide and can be trusted with all the logistics of your trip. Don't hesitate, just contact him for the ultimate adventure. I have been on three safaris with him and there will be another.

I visited the Masai Mara in early March and had the pleasure of going on safari with Dominic, truly the highlight of the trip. We booked him for two days but he was so exceptional we extended to the full six days. Dominic asked the right questions from the start, and every outing felt tailored to us — the animals, landscapes, the pace, nothing was generic or rushed. Patient, knowledgeable, and generous with information throughout. I travelled with a friend who has been to Africa 13 times, and she said Dominic surpassed her first five trips. If you’re looking for a guide who listens and delivers a personalised experience, Dominic is your person. Highly recommended!
